Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Peafield Lane Academy, we recognise the importance of supporting children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing so that they feel happy, safe and ready to learn.

Mental Health Support Team

We work closely with our local Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to provide support at a range of levels, including whole-class learning, targeted group work and individual support where appropriate.

Alongside our wider pastoral provision, this helps children develop their emotional literacy, resilience and strategies for managing their wellbeing, while ensuring children and families can access additional support when they need it.

Wellbeing Warriors

Our Wellbeing Warriors, led by Mrs Kirk, play an important role in supporting positive wellbeing and friendships across school.

At playtimes, our Wellbeing Warriors are on the lookout for children who may need a little extra support – whether they are playing alone, finding it difficult to join in or struggling with friendships or group play.

They offer friendly peer-to-peer support, helping children to feel included, make connections and enjoy positive playtimes. This supports our PRIDE values, particularly being Respectful and Inclusive, and reinforces our commitment to ensuring every child feels that they belong.
