Dear parents and carers,
In 2020 the Department for Education has announced changes to relationships and sex education (RSE).
These changes came into effect from September 2020 and all schools were required to comply with the updated requirements. Due to the Covid outbreak, the government advised that schools may delay implementation and many schools, including Peafield Lane have held back until now.
This means that we are reviewing our RSE curriculum and policy so we can be sure our RSE provision is meets statutory requirements and is appropriate for our pupils based on their:
Physical and emotional maturity
Religious and cultural backgrounds
Special educational needs and/or disabilities
Any changes to our relationships and sex education policy require a period for consultation to allow parents to provide feedback and opinions should they wish.
This consultation period will end on Friday 4 June.
If you’d like to participate, please email email@example.com or call the school office on 01623 460366, before Friday 4 June].
To help you understand the curriculum requirements we need to meet, please do take a look at the attached policy which will be ratified by governors following the consultation period. More detailed content may be found in the curriculum section of the school website.
Thank you for your time.
